Tis the Season…Flu & Colds

Winter with varying temperatures is a prime time for colds and flu.  There are precautions everyone can take to help prevent the spread of illness.

  • Cover coughs
  • Wash hands frequently
  • Avoid contact with eyes and mouth
  • Running a fever, stay home and rest, be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school
  •  If you are on an antibiotic stay home for 24 hours before coming back to school
  • Disinfect doorknobs and exposed surfaces
  • Leave school because of illness, the next day is excused so you can fully recover and lessen exposure for others.

Page 24 of the handbook outlines school procedures for illness and injury; please take a few minutes to review.  Your help in reducing exposure to sickness is greatly appreciated.

If you must be absent notify the school first thing.   Provide a Dr. Excuse each time you are seen by a doctor/dentist.   A hand delivered or faxed excuse is acceptable.  The NE fax is 309-456-3936.  Don’t let unexcused absences impact your grades.
