  • Mark your calendars for our fourth community engagement session.  This session will focus on potential building configurations that could meet the needs of the West Prairie student body.  February 22nd at the Spoon River Outreach Center in Macomb, promptly starting at 6 p.m.


  • SHHHHH….February 12th through the 15th is Bus Driver Appreciation week.  We have a thank you gift for each of the drivers but if you’d like to recognize their hard work and dedication to safety by making a card or sweet treat I think it would be appreciated.


  • Bounce Back and Thrive Classes to Begin MARCH 10th:  The big kick-off is Saturday, March 10th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  We will have fun activities for the kids and a delicious hot lunch will be provided.  More details to come soon!!  Bounce Back and Thrive is a workshop full of strategies that will help parents promote positive resilient thinking in your home!


  • Did you know that Laurie Myers and her therapy dogs, Rosie and Daisy visited our schools recently?  Mrs. Myers did an excellent job of teaching the students about how to approach a strange dog, what a dog is thinking and the qualities of a good therapy dog. 


  • K-4 Valentine’s Parties will begin at 2:00 p.m. on the 14th for all wanting to join in the fun. 


  • Mike Anderson aka The Dulcimer Guy will be performing after lunch on February 15th for the entire school.  Mike is a lively entertainer who demonstrates several instruments, a bit of history and a lot of fun stories. If your child attends morning Pre-K, feel free to bring them back to school for the 12:40 performance.  


  • PARCC testing will begin on March 19th through March 23rd.  While sickness is unavoidable, it would be wonderful if other appointments or trips could be scheduled around these dates.  Third and Fourth grade students take the state mandated PARCC test.


  • No School- February 16th,  Teacher Institute 
  • No School- February 19th,  Presidents’ Day
