Seventh grade students who previously attended West Prairie North Elementary visited the North Elementary on Wednesday, April 17. The students became reading buddies with our Preschool, Kindergarten and 2nd grade students for some time during their visit. They then visited with our current 6th grade students to talk about what a typical day at school for a 7th grade student looks like. It was then followed with a Q & A and a team building activity of Ships and Sailors in the gymnasium. It was a wonderful activity for our 6th grade students as they transition to 7th grade at the junior high school. Thank you to Mr. Heuer, Mr. Rogers, and the 7th grade students for organizing this and for coming to visit and help with this transition.

Today, we would like to acknowledge the 2 wonderful "nurses" at WPNE! Nurse Kortney Burling is the district nurse and travels between our three buildings. She is a very busy lady and we love seeing her warm smile when she is able to be here with us. Ms. Nancy also acts as our school "Nurse" when Nurse Kortney can not be in our building. This is just another one of the MANY things that Ms. Nancy does for us and she, too, is so appreciated! Both of these ladies are always so helpful in taking care of "owies", giving meds, helping with headaches and tummy aches, and everything in between. We're not sure any of us would survive day to day without them and we hope they know how wonderful and appreciated they are!
