August 5, Back to School Fair at MMS.ROE 26 LEAP (aka ALOP) and Truancy staff are hosting a Back to School Fair this upcoming August 5th. The event will be held during the daytime from 9am - 4pm at the Macomb Middle School, and open to all McDonough County students. This event will be a 'One Stop Shop' to be prepared for the school year. They will have local organizations/social service agencies available, free haircuts, free school supplies, free clothes, immunizations, and they are hoping to offer school physicals. Our overall goal is to help students and families be set up for success at the start of the school year!

Caseys means more to us than pizza. They support our classrooms and you can help!
Casey's offers a great program called Cash for Classrooms that allows your school to raise funds for things like playgrounds and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports).
Here's how you can help your school benefit from Casey's Rewards and the Cash for Classrooms program:
1. Join Casey's Rewards:
Sign up for Casey's Rewards through the Casey's app or online at Caseys.com.
When you create an account, you'll be automatically enrolled in Casey's Rewards.
2. Earn Points:
Use your Casey's Rewards account (through the app or by providing your phone number) every time you make a purchase at Casey's – in-store, online, or at the pump.
You'll earn points for your purchases, which you can then redeem.
3. Donate Your Points:
Through the Casey's app, you can choose to donate your earned points to a school of your choice.
Search for your school in the app and select it to direct your points towards a donation.
With as few as 250 points, you can turn them into a school donation.
4. How Donations are Used:
Casey's sends the donations directly to the school administration.
Schools can use the funds for various purposes, including:
Physical improvements (e.g., playground enhancements).
Educational materials.
Community engagement and extracurricular activities.
Teacher support.
In addition to donating points, your school could also potentially apply for a Casey's Cash for Classrooms grant:
Casey's awards grants ranging from $3,000 to $50,000 to eligible schools for projects like improving playground structures.
The grant application period typically reopens in the fall.
You can find more information about applying for grants on the Casey's website.
By joining Casey's Rewards and encouraging others in your school community to do the same, you can easily contribute to fundraising efforts for your playground, PBIS, and other school needs.
